Many hope for unity. That too is a Hope of mine. Here is a call for unity for our separated brothers and sisters, and those not of the Faith to join our fold. For unity. That unity can only be had through Christ. And He created One Church, which has been passed down to us through succession of the Apostles. Therefore there is only unity in that One True Holy Apostolic Church. Here is just a few reasons why that Church is the Catholic Church.
Jesus Christ is the Truth, Way, and Life. No other can make that claim. He gave the gift the Church which canonized and gave to the rest what is Holy Scripture. No other Church can make that claim but the Catholic Church. Others adopt and reinterpret and try to make claim with the very Scripture we gave them. Did God allow the Church to have the wrong Bible for 1500 years? Why did all Christians use the deuterocanon since even before the canonization, yet all of a sudden 1500 years later they can be deemed apocryphal? The only way you can remove books that the early Christians used is by declaring that God and His guidance by Holy Spirit made a mistake for over a thousand years.
Catholicism is the One Church and thus the only One with unity under One authority of Christ and one visible authority of the Bishop of Rome. All rites have companionship and submit to that authority.
Protestants, Mormons, Jehovah witnesses, Hindus, Buddhists, Muslims, etc all have multiple schisms. Catholic is the only religion that is truly One as the Father and Son are One.
The Church is the Body and also Jesus wanted an actual physical representation for that Body. We Catholics are the only One that can date back to Peter and who is “built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus Himself as the cornerstone” and we “obey your leaders and submit to them” as it is written. Both Spiritual Body and actual household, “you may know how one ought to behave in the household of God, which is the Church of the living God, a pillar and buttress of the Truth.”
Man made doctrines date back to far after the Church was created, not by Peter by whom the Lord Himself chose, but by a schism such as Luther, Calvin, Joseph Smith, Charles Russell, etc, many years later.
Not only does the Catholic Church have the authority of the Bible attesting to us, but also history. Not only are our early Popes Linus (2 Timothy) and Clement (Philippians) mentioned in the Bible, but there is even written letter to the Corinthians Church before the death of the Apostle John in 80 AD, and other Christians testifying that Clement had personal contact with Apostle Peter, such as Irenaeus of Lyons, “this man had seen the blessed apostles, had been conversant with them, might be said to have the preaching of the apostles still echoing, and their tradition before his eyes.” Shortly after in 110 AD, Ignatius of Antioch confirmed this leadership of how “the Church which holds its presidency in the location of Rome.” The Catholic Church is the keeps to these Apostolic traditions and maintains all of the Sacraments that Christ Himself instituted.
As Catholic apologist of the Church militant, Michael Voris, once famously stated, “everyone in Heaven is a Catholic.” This is not to say only Catholics go to Heaven, but that once we make it to Heaven we are One. We are universal. We are united. We hope to unite with all our separated brethren now while also gathering some strays into the fold, but moreso is the Hope for our unity in Heaven. To who much is given, much is expected. Voris too believes many others can attain Heaven, though it wouldn’t be because of the fullness of Faith the Church contains, but in spite of by the sheer glory and grace of God.
Why make your walk harder than it has to be? Take from our cup Father, not our will, but yours. We climb Jacob’s ladder to Christ together. As One Church, if another falls they do so onto the shoulders of a brother to hold you up. When one of us sins we hurt the whole Body, as such when one of us succeeds in His Way we raise the whole Body. Are Faith is not of separation, but of Oneness. This is why my heart pangs for our separated brethren. God gives us the gift of the Church which guided by His Holy Spirit contains the fullness of Mercy, Grace, Faith, Hope, and Charity, through Jesus Christ and His presence in His Blessed Sacraments. Why not accept His gift? For as He says, “My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”
Our protestant brothers and sisters our missing out on the fullness of the faith, but they are still part of our family.
Test the verisimilitude of what I’ve said and feel the depth of the neverending spring of waters and Spirit of Jesus and His Church for yourself.
Jesus is calling you now. Come to Him. God Love You.
