Pray the Rosary

“As a result, the deepest thoughts of many hearts will be revealed. And a sword will pierce your very soul.”

Amen Amen, I say to you, this is the power of the Blessed Holy Rosary. Within it we imitate what it contains, and obtain what it promises. The Spiritual mysteries of the Life, Passion, and Glory of our King, in succinct One accord to who is closest to our Lord by motherly bond of One’s child, Mother Mary.

I write this letter to you who are in Christ to prepare you for battle, so you may be prepared to defend the Faith for the Hope in your heart, and to do so with meekness and respect. For there shall be Many attacks at the Church, you who are Christ’s Body, shall be begotten unto you for the devil despises your prayers. Truly truly I tell you, even from among our own brotherhood, goats and wolves will reveal themselves, and sheep who have been led against our own family by other doctrines, to attack your prayers, especially the Holy Rosary. Endure. What makes the devil flee more than unceasing prayer?

A common condemnation is to falsely accuse our Roman brethren of “empty words” or “paganism” or as “whores of Babylon.” Truly, brothers and sisters, I’ve received many condemnations and profane insults hurled at me for the good of prayer in our Lord’s Name. And what brother would hinder God’s children from prayer?

We know he was talking about a manner of prayer of empty pagan phrases due to the history of them repeating long babbling phrases listing all the gods to cover all their bases. We know this not only by history, but because the very next verse Jesus then gives us the Lord’s prayer to recite.

Should we not pray the Lord’s prayer everyday, wouldn’t that be “repetitive”? Certainly not!

Jesus Himself prays the same prayer over and over again for hours when He took Peter, James, and John up to Mount Olivet in Mark 14, Luke 22, John 18, Matthew 26, “So, leaving them again, he went away and prayed for the third time, saying the same words again.”

Next Jews and Christians alike have prayed Psalm 136 in habitual practice for a long time in which David and faithful who recite it say, “for his steadfast love endures for ever” 26 times in 26 verses! Are David and Jesus both condemned for their own prayers? Absurd! How can our own brothers and sisters condemn us for what David and even Jesus Himself practice?

How else do we know he was talking about babbling like pagans and the manner and heart of our prayer, rather than merely repetition? He commends sincere repetition in the parable in Luke 18!

So simply ask yourself if it would make sense if Jesus who prayed the same prayers and others in God’s Word do the same and who tells us to “pray without ceasing” would want you to stop praying simply because you sometimes say the same words out of love for him? Would you stop reading over your Bible again and again, or a passage or verse simply because they contain the “same words”? Is our Christ a well that can run dry, or is His water which flows forth an eternal spring of Life?

Afterall, the Rosary is not mindless recitation of empty phrases, but prayer in which we should be in deep closeness to our Lord. While reciting the Ave Maria, Our Father, Glory Be and so on we are to be in profound meditation and contemplation on the Gospel of our Lord and Saviour, reciting also His Life, Passion, and Glory to know Him more intimately and be close to Him “praying in One accord” through Christ with our Blessed Mother by adoption into His family. Pray with the communication of all saints just as we did in the beginning of the Church. Just as a Mother and child have an indescribable and immutable spiritual bond, we too are to seek that type of closeness to our Lord Jesus Christ in praying His Rosary.

In conclusion, I implore you to follow Christ “praying the same words” just as He who we imitate did in the Garden of Gethsemane. Pray it profusely until your sweat turns to blood…His blood that pours out from His crucifixion even into this day and forevermore. The Holy Rosary is our great weapon against spiritual warfare in these trying times where even the Church doors may be closed at a whim. And do it perfectly as your Father in Heaven is perfect. Do not babble it mindlessly, but do it with full conviction, ardent sincerity, and an infinite unceasing Love for our Lord and Saviour, Christ Jesus. Pray completely out of Love, to our greatest Love.
